Eat carrots for a girl, and chocolate for a boy

A new study has dredged up some startling results for expectant mothers or women who are trying for a baby - the types of food that you eat at the time of conception may help to determine the sex of your baby.
“If you want a boy, eat a healthy diet with a high calorie intake, including breakfast,” says Fiona Mathews, the lead researcher from Exeter University. Conversely, it seems that cutting down your calories, and increasing your intake of healthy fruit and vegetables - as all expectant mums should do - makes it likely you’ll be making a baby girl.
However, with the obesity epidemic that is sweeping the UK, surely a high calorie diet should be admonished rather than encouraged? Along with the obvious problems that stem from being very overweight, obese women who become pregnant risk serious health issues such as raised blood pressure and pregnancy-related diabetes.
As the Times Online is keen to point out, however, professional lollipop Victoria Beckham has spawned three boys on her somewhat anti-calorie diets. So this story is to be taken with a pinch of salt (if you want a boy, naturally).
