Some things just don’t do what they say on the tin.

We’ve all done it. As anyone who’s had a bad relationship would testify (and that’s most of us), some things you think are good for you, are actually doing exactly the opposite.

It’s the same with our relationship with food. They may look like they are good for you - even have a healthy-sounding name – but in reality they are doing us all kinds of damage.

One in five brides-to-be will go to “extreme” methods to slim down for their wedding day, a US study has revealed.

Such is the pressure on women to look ‘perfect’ on their wedding day, researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee found that an alarmingly high percentage will risk their health by skipping meals, taking unprescribed pills or laxatives and even ramming their fingers down their throat after eating.

Would you pay $100 to stop your children eating too much and spending less time in front of the TV?

Yeah, I thought you would. Well, a new electronic device can help you do just that.

Called the TV Allowance - made by Mindmaster Inc and invented by Randal Levenson in 1991 - it controls the amount of time your kids can watch TV.

We would just about all love to lose a bit of weight.

After all, it makes you feel more confident and it’s generally good for your health. But for employees at one particular company in America, it could also be great for their wallets.

Fitness, health, healthy eating, keep fit, Tips, weight loss, weightlossLet’s face it, starting a new diet or fitness plan is never easy.

After the first few weeks, you always struggle to maintain it. There is never enough time, there is no-one giving you any support, and, after a while, you can’t be bothered - it’s too much effort.

I think we have all been there. Well, DietPixie has come up with five ways to help you stay on track.

calorie, fat, kcals, cals, calories, weight loss, weightloss, diet, fitnessThere are a number of factors determine how many calories you should consume per day, here’s a run-through of what to consider.

Cheryl Cole feels fat and spotty

http://www.dietpixie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/cheryl-william.jpgWha…?! Yes, more from Mrs Cole, but we’ve seen the visitor stats and we know you eat her up, so here’s some more:

Despite her skinny little frame attracting criticism and snarky blog posts (soz), the new X Factor judge has been telling anyone who’ll listen that she has her fat and spotty days.

She’s already said that she hates her legs – which are lovely, note please – and now she’s admitted to feeling insecure about her looks.

Apparently, her love rat husband, Ashley Cole, prefers her to look like all the girls I see in my local precinct pushing prams with their smoking hand:

“When I’ve got no make-up on, hair scraped off my head, he always says ‘Oh, you look cute!’ because it’s the complete opposite to how he’s used to seeing me every day.”

She told Heat:

“There will be times when I’ve got changed three of more times before I leave the house.

“Could be hormones, bad hair day, feel fat or spotty. I have it all.

“I’ve got a new fondness for high-waisted jeans because they make my legs look longer.”

But they make your trunk look short?!
