david-allen, dave allen, therapist, alcohol, help, drinking, drinking too much, agony uncleThis week’s question for our agony uncle, David Allen, is from Gavin, who hasn’t been able to quit uni-style boozing and soon turns 30.

Dear David,

While I was at Uni I used to drink socially along with everyone else. There was a pretty full-on drinking culture, in that we drank most nights (lots of cheap deals and two-for-ones in clubs) and then hair of the dog the next day.

http://www.dietpixie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/dave-allen.jpgOur favourite hypnotherapist, David Allen, has agreed to come on board as our regular Agony Uncle. Hurrah for us! And for you, as it’s you lot who can now benefit from his advice.

To send a question in for David to answer, email dietpixie@googlemail.com

So, who is David Allen?

Never believe a Hypnotherapist

June 25th, 2008 11:41

David AllenI’ll be the first to admit that it’s a pretty odd title for an article written by a hypnotherapist but it has a purpose and by and large it’s true, at least as far as claims of success are concerned.

One of the first things you might want to ask of a therapist, of whatever persuasion, is what is your success rate?

How many people with my problem have you ‘cured’? How good are you?

Beating the boozing trap

booze, booze trap, dependency, alcoholic, aa, hypnotherapy, nlp, david allen Our favourite hypnotherapist, David Allen, has put together a guide on beating the dependency trap.

And no, it doesn’t just apply to booze. If you over-eat, over-stress, chew your nails or do anything else TOO MUCH you need to read this.

DietPixie looking for a new editor

The more observant of you may have noticed it has been a while since we posted a new story.

This is basically because DietPixie currently has no editor. Our former editor, Holly, recently had a baby and understandably found the stresses and strains of juggling the demands of a full-time job, website and motherhood a little too much.

But don’t worry. We are currently in the process of looking for a new editor and the site should be back up and running soon.

Want to throw your hat into the ring? Well, that’s great. We really believe in DietPixie and we want it to be a success.

Just send me an email at david@hecklerspray.com and tell me why you would be a great editor or writer of Dietpixie and we’ll take it from there.
