Talk about getting shit-faced. Well, you may laugh, but New Yorkers are actually giving it a go, while the Japanese geishas and kabuki dancers have been using it since the 18th Century. Bernstein calls it her ‘Geisha Facial’, and it’s a traditional cleanser that was used to wash off heavy white make-up.
Speaking to the New York Post, Bernstein, who came to America from Japan, explained she got a few a blank faces when she first talked about it.
She said: “My English is not perfect, it’s my second language.
“And they [her customers] know I could be making a mistake with what I was saying. And they would ask me if I was sure; if I was really talking about bird poop.”
So, I guess what you really want to know is whether it smells. Well, apparently, there is an odour, but it comes in a powder form, directly from Japan, and, according to Bernstein it smells like “hay” or “the outside”.
Ok, so the other question is it just a load of crap – literally.
Well, speaking to the New York Post, Andrea Nieto was certainly one satisfied customer.
She said: “You wouldn’t even know it was nightingale droppings. And after, my skin was softer than it had been in a really long time. And it looked clearer to me, too.
“But you gotta wonder how they figured to use these things. Who put two and two together like that?”
