Which is the best celebrity fitness DVD?
January 9th, 2008 at 20:28 by Holly
Another year, another slew of celebrity fitness DVDs.
Here is DietPixie’s fab round-up of the best of breed for 2008.
1. Vicky Binns
Lovely, homely Vicky (Molly from Coronation Street) is that latest ‘down-to-earth’ celebrity to release an ‘I can do it, so can you’ fitness DVD: Dance It Off.
But the question now stands, will Molly be ditching Tyrone for a hotter new model, now she’s slim enough to fall through the cobbles?
Holy smokes, it’s Sonia from Eastenders! Sonia sloped away from Albert Square months ago and was largely forgotten until she cropped up in the weeklies looking, well, fairly hot and a lot trimmer.
Now a size 8, and having lost the scowls as well as the jowls, she has abs like a washboard and a surfeit of blusher on the cover of her new DVD: Natalie Cassidy’s Then And Now Workout [2007].
Very confusing.
The UK’s answer to mid-80s Jane Fonda, Davina McCall has gone from annoying and dumpy presenter, to annoying but super-fit queen of fitness DVDs.
Her latest is a DVD , which focuses on fast-paced workouts to mum-friendly pop music. You can’t knock the formula though, these puppies will sell by the bucket-load because they are genuinely effective. And unlike some other DVD-hawking celebs (stand up, Jade Goody), she seems to be keeping the weight off permanently - which is surely the best advert of all.
Not quite a celebrity workout (Patrick Swayze isn’t featured, disappointingly) but Dirty Dancing : The Official Dance Workout looks to be this year’s Pump It Up.
As cheesy as a bunch of babybels, the DVD has five individually choreographed routines and teaches you the classic moves from the film. Genius.
And limping into the bargain bucket at a garage near you!the horror that is Samanda, The Twins - Dance Workout.
What’s not to like? A girl’s night out soundtrack, an uninspired aerobics workout and matching pink outfits. God help us.
