Hollywood star Charlize Theron refused to diet

Charlize Theron says she turned down the chance to be a supermodel – because she didn’t want to go on a diet.
The Oscar-winning actress insists her refusal to bow to industry pressure when she was younger and slim down cost her a lucrative career on the catwalk.
Not that’s she’s complaining. The South African beauty admitted she never wanted to be model and only considered acting when the career she really wanted – tap dancing - was wrecked by a serious knee injury at just 19.
The 32-year-old star said: “I had the capability to be a bigger model that I was. They were always telling me, ‘lose five pounds and you’ll be a supermodel’.
“But I only saw modelling like waitressing; it was a way to pay for another career, and that career was dance.”
Thankfully, the Hollywood beauty didn’t have the same reservations about bulking up for her Oscar-winning performance as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster.
She said: “It’s naïve and sweet that people think weight gain constitutes acting.
“She’d led a homeless life, and if you sleep under a bridge, you don’t go to the gym.”
