Meet our new Agony Uncle, David Allen

Our favourite hypnotherapist, David Allen, has agreed to come on board as our regular Agony Uncle. Hurrah for us! And for you, as it’s you lot who can now benefit from his advice.

So, who is David Allen?

David is a hypnotherapist with experience helping people beat their addictions and cycles of unhealthy behaviour.

As a child, David himself experienced first hand a single mother who found it hard to cope with the responsibilities of three young children on her own. He was adopted by his mum’s father and his partner and grew up as part of their loving family.

David has himself experienced the tragic loss of his sister, and the subsequent loss –through custody – of his nephew.

He has experienced heart-breaking personal decisions, job stress, and alcohol dependency.

“Progressively,” says David, “that increased to a point where alcohol became too important to me. I regard myself as having been a ‘sophisticated alcoholic’. The kind of person that doesn’t let drink interfere with work or other important events but still being able to consume fifty units per week on a regular basis. I know that there are many in the same position because I treat them and they join my website for private help and assistance.

“We are in control of who we are and whom we want to become, so much more than our western culture of third party dependence would allow us to believe and I use the knowledge of this to stimulate others to understand the power we have over our own existence.”
