satc, sex and the city, miranda hobbs, miranda, cancer, cynthia nixon, breast, breasts, breast cancerThe Sex and the City redhead, who plays butch solicitor, Miranda Hobbs, has revealed she overcame breast cancer, but it wasn’t that big a brouhaha.

The mum of one discovered she had stage 1 cancer two years ago, she tells Shape magazine. Having watched her mum suffer with – and beat – breast cancer 30 years before, she wasn’t too worried.

jade-goody, jade, goody, cancer, jade has cancer, cervical cancer, big brotherIn a near fatal case of head-in-the-sandness, Jade admits she had been for four smears that found abnormal cells and ignored a letter telling her she needed to have more cells removed in case they led to cervical cancer.

She had had cells removed after the first three abnormal smears, but she says she was too scared to go back to hospital and instead the pre-cancerous abnormal cells became full cervical cancer.

natalie imbruglia, power-walking, walking, walk. fitness, daniel johnsAfter finally splitting with that whiny little pipsqueak, Daniel Johns of Silverchair and Anorexia fame, Natalie Imbruglia is back in the spotlight.

And not a moment too soon, we think she’s a delight.

How Jessica Alba lost the baby weight

August 21st, 2008 20:15

http://www.dietpixie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/jessica-alba-fantastic-4-150x150.jpgWe know she’s a fan of breast feeding, but how else did she shed all that pregnancy pudge? Her personal trainer has been blabbing.

She’s lost 25lbs – nearly two stone – in the two months since Honor Marie was born.

Cheryl Cole feels fat and spotty

August 20th, 2008 22:10

http://www.dietpixie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/cheryl-william.jpgWha…?! Yes, more from Mrs Cole, but we’ve seen the visitor stats and we know you eat her up, so here’s some more:

Despite her skinny little frame attracting criticism and snarky blog posts (soz), the new X Factor judge has been telling anyone who’ll listen that she has her fat and spotty days.

Big, lumpy, common, brassy, once-was-pretty, now fronts Iceland, Kerry Katona has decided her body is so ravaged that she needs a new one.

The woman who can honestly say Brian McFadden was the best she had, is to spend a small fortune on a set of fresh body parts. Despite continually protesting she’s brassic, she’s to splurge £15,000 on the full-body-service including breast reduction and liposuction.

christina-applegate, christina, breasts, boobs, cancer, breast cancerBreast cancer is a terrifying disease at the best of times, so when you’re a woman famour – in part – for the way you look, the way you move and – not to be too flippant – your womanly curves – it must suck even bigger.

So a big thumbs up to brave Christina Applegate, 36, who has burst forth onto the TV circuit and spoken eloquently and honestly about her double mastectomy and upcoming breast reconstruction surgery.

Jade Goody has cancer and is told on TV

August 19th, 2008 22:01

http://www.hecklerspray.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/cbb5_d17_400_g_toad.jpgReality TV nincompoop, Jade Goody, has left the Indian Big Brother house after being told in the diary room that she has cervical cancer.

There are shades of dark irony and there are gory details, but at the end of the day, it’s still cancer, so we’ll be respectful.

http://www.dietpixie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/natalie-cassidy-150x150.jpgThe dream had to end some time and it was bound to be in true soap opera style.

It’s been just eight months since Natalie Cassidy – aka fat Sonia from Eastenders – showcased her size eight princess-like figure, but now the clock has chimed and she’s turned back into a pumpkin.

http://www.dietpixie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/apples-150x150.jpgThat’s right, we’re all doomed. Well, 99 in the hundred of us are anyway.

According to the Mail, where they call us Britons instead of Brits, because they’re like that, only one in a hundred of us have a diet that is healthy and not too high in sugar, salt and fat.

http://www.dietpixie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/cheryl-william.jpgSize zero Cheryl Cole, who is now a judge on X-Factor so can annoy you every Saturday night as well as every time you open the paper, has been moaning about the pressure on women to look a certain way.

And this pressure wouldn’t be at all helped by tiny little pop stars making the rest of us feel unwieldy at anything above size eight.

DietPixie looking for a new editor

The more observant of you may have noticed it has been a while since we posted a new story.

This is basically because DietPixie currently has no editor. Our former editor, Holly, recently had a baby and understandably found the stresses and strains of juggling the demands of a full-time job, website and motherhood a little too much.

But don’t worry. We are currently in the process of looking for a new editor and the site should be back up and running soon.

Want to throw your hat into the ring? Well, that’s great. We really believe in DietPixie and we want it to be a success.

Just send me an email at david@hecklerspray.com and tell me why you would be a great editor or writer of Dietpixie and we’ll take it from there.
